Kogan Lee

Owner / CFO

Kogan Lee is the financial maestro behind Horizon Lawn and Landscape, keeping the numbers in check and the operations running smoothly. As the overseer of finance, accounting, tax planning, back-office functions, and key accounts, Kogan ensures every blade of grass—and every dollar—is in its rightful place. With a keen eye for business growth, he’s navigated multiple company acquisitions and mergers, making him the go-to strategist for all things financial.

Kogan’s journey started with a roar as a proud Missouri Tiger (MIZ!) and rounded out his academics with an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Management from UMKC. Before diving into the green world of landscaping, Kogan sharpened his leadership skills as a Management Consulting Director for over 15 years, where he managed a large team working directly with numerous global Fortune 500 companies, while also gaining invaluable experience in multi-family and residential real estate. His diverse background equips him with the skills to turn every challenge into an opportunity.


When he’s not crunching numbers or strategizing the next big move, Kogan is busy being the ultimate family guy—chauffeuring his two boys (and, occasionally, his two dogs) to various youth activities. Outside the office, you’ll find him perfecting his golf swing or managing his fantasy football team like the pro he is. A die-hard Mizzou Tiger and Kansas City Chiefs fan, Kogan brings the same level of passion to the field—both on and off the turf.

Brandon Baker

Owner / COO

Brandon Baker is the Owner and Chief Operating Officer at Horizon Lawn & Landscape. He is the operational powerhouse & expertly manages company procedures, business development, purchasing, and key accounts. With significant experience in acquisitions and mergers, Brandon has been instrumental in driving Horizon’s growth and expansion, ensuring smooth operations at every turn.

Brandon’s path to landscaping greatness began at Kansas State University (Go KSU!) before he took on the world as a Lead Sales Engineer in the HVAC industry, where he honed his leadership skills. His diverse experience in both commercial and residential real estate adds depth to his expertise, providing Horizon’s clients with top-tier service backed by strategic insights.


Outside of work, Brandon is a devoted family man, happily married with two children. His weekends are often filled with youth sports, where he can be found cheering on the sidelines. In his downtime, he enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors. A true fan of K-State and the Kansas City Chiefs, Brandon brings his passion and competitive spirit into every aspect of his work, helping Horizon aim high and consistently deliver the best. Go Chiefs!

Thomas Cable

General Manager

With over 25 years of experience under his belt, Thomas Cable is the seasoned veteran steering Horizon Lawn and Landscape’s day-to-day operations. As the General Manager, Thomas wears many hats—licensed chemical applicator, irrigation and drainage specialist, and leader of the mowing, fertilization, drainage, irrigation, and snow divisions. From manicured residential lawns to expansive HOA properties and high-end commercial buildings, Thomas has seen it all and mastered it all across the metro area.


A true leader from the start, Thomas is an Eagle Scout who’s always ready for the next adventure. Weekends often find him boating at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he recharges before diving back into work with full force. When he’s not on the water, Thomas enjoys hitting the gym and exploring the culinary world—whether it’s cooking up a storm or sampling new restaurants. With a passion for fitness and food, he brings the same zest to Horizon, ensuring every project is executed with excellence and a touch of finesse.

Scott Hamblen

Commercial Landscape Manager

Scott Hamblen is Horizon Lawn and Landscape’s seasoned expert with 42 years in the landscape business. As the Commercial Landscape Manager, Scott brings his vast experience and knowledge to every project, overseeing everything from bidding and installation to day-to-day operations. With over 40 years as a licensed chemical applicator certified by the Missouri Department of Agriculture and an OSHA 10 certification, Scott is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Scott’s hands-on approach sets him apart—he’s not just behind the desk but actively involved in the field, operating all the necessary equipment, including front-end loaders, excavators, bore machines, trenchers, and augers. His expertise covers a wide range of landscape and irrigation installations, making him a key leader at Horizon.


Outside of work, Scott is all about enjoying the outdoors and spending time with family. He loves hunting, fishing, and watching sports, always cheering on his favorite teams. When the weather’s nice, you’ll find him by the pool, soaking up quality time with his grandkids. Scott’s passion for both his work and personal life makes him a dynamic leader who brings enthusiasm and dedication to every project.

Mike Bagley

Landscape Manager & Designer

Mike Bagley is Horizon Lawn and Landscape’s creative mastermind, blending his extensive experience with a passion for design to craft stunning outdoor spaces. As the Landscape Manager & Designer, Mike specializes in landscape and drainage solutions, custom landscape design, and sales. A licensed chemical applicator certified by the Missouri Department of Agriculture, Mike ensures every turf, shrub, and tree gets the care they deserve. From commercial and HOA lawn maintenance contracts to account management, Mike’s expertise covers it all.


With a career that started at 16 in a commercial landscape nursery, Mike has designed and sold over 12,000 landscape and drainage projects, making him a seasoned veteran in the field. His eye for detail and commitment to quality has earned him a reputation for transforming ordinary landscapes into extraordinary works of art.


A proud U.S. Army veteran, Mike brings discipline and dedication to every project. He’s also a devoted dad to two kids and one dog, and when he’s not working, you can find him enjoying the great outdoors—hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. A die-hard Chiefs fan, Mike approaches his work with the same enthusiasm he brings to game day, always striving to deliver the best for Horizon’s clients.

Lauro De La Cruz

Operations Manager

ro De La Cruz is the backbone of Horizon Lawn and Landscape’s day-to-day operations, bringing over 20 years of industry experience to the table. As the Operations Manager, Lauro is deeply involved in the field, working alongside crew members to ensure that every job meets the highest quality standards. With a hands-on approach, he oversees quality control on all projects, making sure each task is executed with precision and care.


Lauro’s expertise spans a wide range of services, including landscape installation, new and existing irrigation systems, hardscapes, landscape lighting, drainage, retaining walls of all sizes, and tree and shrub planting. As an OSHA 10 certified professional, Lauro prioritizes safety and efficiency, ensuring that Horizon’s projects not only look great but are completed to the best standards.


When he’s not on the job, Lauro enjoys unwinding by watching movies, spending weekends with family, and catching up with friends. He also has a passion for exploring local restaurants and savoring good food. Lauro’s dedication to both his work and personal life makes him a dependable leader and a cherished part of the Horizon team, always ready to go the extra mile to get the job done right.

Erin Knox

Office Manager

Erin Knox is the organizational powerhouse at Horizon Lawn and Landscape, ensuring the smooth flow of day-to-day operations. With 20 years of experience as a legal assistant, Erin was ready for a change and brought her keen attention to detail and management skills to the world of lawn and landscape. As the Office Manager, she keeps everything running seamlessly—managing phones, emails, and scheduling while supporting the entire office team with her expertise and warm approach.


Erin’s knack for multitasking and her dedication to excellent customer service make her the heart of Horizon’s administrative operations. Whether she’s coordinating schedules or handling inquiries, Erin ensures that every client interaction is handled with the utmost care.


Outside of the office, Erin enjoys spending time with her two grown kids who are thriving in their adult lives. She loves weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks, where she can unwind and soak up the beauty of nature. A fan of family gatherings, good friends, and cozy nights in with a Hallmark movie, Erin brings a touch of that same warmth and joy to her role at Horizon, making every day just a bit brighter.

Kyle Black

Product Manager

Kyle Black is the boots-on-the-ground expert and Project Manager at Horizon Lawn and Landscape, where his 30+ years in the green industry turn visions into vibrant, thriving landscapes. With a degree in Agronomy from Missouri State University and a career that spans golf course precision, turf mastery, and supply chain savvy, Kyle brings a level of depth and leadership that’s rare in the field.


Before joining Horizon, Kyle spent 18 years managing golf courses, crafting greens that played as good as they looked. He followed that with 7 years in turf and landscape management, then 5 years as a branch manager at SiteOne, where he became a trusted name in landscape supply, logistics, and contractor support.


A St. Joe native who made the move to Kansas City in 2011, Kyle is known for keeping projects on time, on budget, and up to his high standards. His extensive knowledge of turf, plants, and the landscape supply chain makes him the go-to guy when the stakes are high and the details matter.


Off the job site, you’ll find Kyle immersed in a good book, a gripping documentary, or cheering on the Chiefs and Royals like it’s his full-time job. He’s got a curiosity for the universe, a love for science, and a loyal dog who keeps him grounded—literally and figuratively.


No kids, no wife—just a guy, his dog, and a legacy of landscapes that speak for themselves.
